This session will provide an introduction to the Research Excellence Framework (REF), an assessment of research quality in the UK that takes place every 5 to 7 years. REF is important to UCLan, driving allocation of annual research funding and influencing league table position. In this session, attendees will be able to find out:  What is the purpose of REF and how is it linked to research funding in the UK?  How does the REF assess research outputs, impact and environment?, How is UCLan preparing for REF?, Who is included and what do researchers need to do?
